Effective solutions to the global problem in animal production

Mycotoxins are a worldwide challenge in animal production that affect animal welfare and performance. The complete elimination of mycotoxins in raw materials and feed is impossible. For this reason, the strategies of producers are focused on adding mycotoxins binders in the feed. This is to minimize the effects of these substances on the health of the animals. 

The R&D team of BIŌNTE has developed a complete range of cost-effective mycotoxins binders in order to reduce their impact on animal production.

An appropriate mycotoxins binder should be effective against the most dangerous mycotoxins, fasting-action, in order to minimize the effects of mycotoxins. Additionally, a relevant mycotoxins binder should be selective; the product does not adsorb essential nutrients for the animals such as vitamins or aminoacids.

Acronym: BIOTOXFEED

Objective:
The project aims to develop a next-generation portfolio of anti-mycotoxin solutions for animal nutrition based on adsorption, bioprotection, and biotransformation mechanisms. In addition, the efficacy of these formulations in mitigating the detrimental effects of mycotoxin exposure on animal health and productive performance is evaluated, using a science-based approach grounded in the study of toxicokinetics and toxicodynamics across different livestock species.
