The aquaculture sector is undergoing an unprecedented expansion phase. However, the growing transition towards diets with a higher inclusion of plant-based raw materials has exponentially increased the risk of mycotoxin contamination, compromising animal health and farm profitability.
To respond to these challenges, BIŌNTE has reinforced its commitment to aquaculture nutrition by actively participating during the month of September in two of the sector’s key international congresses: IFC 2026 in Brazil and Aquaculture Europe 2026 in Slovenia.
IFC 2026 (Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil): Advanced solutions for tilapia production
At the beginning of the month, the BIŌNTE technical team traveled to Foz do Iguaçu to participate in the International Fish Congress (IFC 2026). The company’s presence combined scientific dissemination with specialized commercial support.
- Technical Conference: BIŌNTE delivered the presentation “Mycotoxins in tilapia production: Repercussions on health and productive performance”, addressing the impact of fungal metabolites on liver health, productive parameters, and physiological resilience in tilapia.
- Commercial Exhibition (Stand 75): Our team presented the specialized anti-mycotoxin solutions for aquaculture BIŌNTE® QUIMITŌX® AQUA and BIŌNTE® QUIMITŌX® AQUA PLUS to the attending audience.
Aquaculture Europe 2026 (Ljubljana, Slovenia): Silver Sponsorship and research on Pacific white shrimp
At the end of September, BIŌNTE consolidated its European positioning by acting as a Silver Sponsor at Aquaculture Europe 2026, held in Ljubljana from September 28 to October 1. In addition to sponsoring the academic session “Nutrition: Functional Ingredients 2” and having our own booth, the company presented key advances in the protection of Pacific white shrimp:
- Wednesday 09/30 (11:45 a.m.) | Health Status and Immune Response: Lecture on the “Evaluation of different dietary doses of an anti-mycotoxin additive on health status and immune response of Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei)”.
- Thursday 10/01 (09:00 a.m.) | Productive Performance: Presentation of the study “Evaluation of different dietary doses of an anti-mycotoxin additive on the performance of Pacific white shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei)”.
